Team 3 Reflection 1
Members in the group and roles

Maribel = Actor/writer
Brian = director/ actor
Luis = editor/ actor/ backup camera man
Richard = Camera man/ storyboard/actor

The message that we want to convey is the fact that teen suicide is prevalent in the United States, and is one of the leading causes of death. The downfall in this group is that the writer/actor Maribel hasn’t attended two of the first classes, and therefore brainstorming became a little bit difficult without having the agreements or disagreements from one of the members. Therefore giving the group a huge set back compare to the other groups. A success in this group would be that even though Maribel was absent for two classes the other group members was right on track first picking bullying as one of the main topics but later switching to teen suicide and picking out some information online that is useful.

TEAM 1: Joel, Jason, Ramon, Santo, and Jose

The members in our group are Joel, Ramon, Jason, Jose, and Santo. We have three roles in our story. The roles are victim which Ramon plays, Predator which Jose plays and Victim’s friend which Joel plays. The story is about Myspace predator and how you can’t trust anyone in a website. Basically Ramon meets someone in myspace who he believes is a girl but in fact is a male person acting as a female. The moral of the story is don’t believe everyone you met in a website. We have 6 different roles in our group. The director in our group is Jason Centeio. The whole group is part of the script/storyboard. The Camera man is Jose and Santo. The back up camera man and editor is Joel, and the writers are Ramon and Joel. Some of the challenges that we have encountered in our group are being able to find accurate information about this topic and how we going to be able to do everything in one location which is in the school. Another challenge that we had today is missing two of our group members which makes the work kind of harder than it already is. Overall everything else looks fine as long we are able to put everything together in one piece.

Miguel's Team #3
Teen Depression

So far our team has chosen roles for each person; Miguel is the director, co-editor, writer, and actor; Merchys is camera crew, sound and lighting, and actress; Daniel is editor, storyboard artist and actor; finally we have Aida as camera crew, props and costumes, and actress. So far it hasn’t been that hard, I think the challenge we’ve had so far was finally coming up with a theme for our project. We first decided on Hip Hops impact on youth but we then decide to do teen depression so we stuck with it.

We decided on teen depression because we all felt that it was a major cause of teen death in many communities in the US. We also think we could make the best movie if our topic was teen depression. So today we came up with some rough scene for our video. We decided to show a day in the life of a depressed teen and what possible outcomes could happen to that teen at the end of his day.

The project so far is going as expected, we have a lot of ideas and we feel as if our story board is going to be a success. The challenges have just began; you can’t have a good product without a few bumps in the road. The topic we have chosen takes careful planning in order to portray our PSA.
The roles of the movie are as follows, Sergio as an actor, editor, and writing. Jessyka is the director as well as an actor. Danny is going to be the camera man/actor. Joey is an actor and storyboard artist. We seem to have the roles planned out well according to everyone’s preferences and skills. Our movie is about what happens behind the scenes; incorporating teenagers in their struggles against life…

Our team number is 4 and the members are Maryam, Daniel, Ely Paul, Munna, and Col. The director of the project is Maryam. The person doing storyboard is Daniel. The Editor is Munna. The person doing sounds, lighting and props is Ely. The camera guy is Col. The main actors are Ely and Daniel, but everyone is acting. Our success so far is coming up with the ideas. But our problem is choosing which one of the ideas to use.

• Team 1
Kelsie Norman
Michael .R
Anthony .H
Jonathan .A
Dan .P

• Title
Discriminating against same sex teen love.

• Parts
Kelsie – actor/director/writer
Michael – actor/storyboard artist
Anthony – actor/lights
Jonathan – cameraman/editor
Dan – actor/costumes

• Extras
Kaneika
Mr. Barfus
Ms. Cap
Mr. Anwar

• Idea’s / brain storming
Instead of regular credits we want snapshots of character during movie then have the name rolled across the screen.
Start off holding hands – camera view on hands only
Then at the same view brooding so everybody can see its two girls or two guys.
During the credits the song that plays should be “Don’t matter” by akon
At the very end of the movie but before the credits show picture.

• Challenge
Mapping the whole thing out is one of our hardest challenges. During these past few weeks me and the team got really far we already have the basics but we need a story line that can pull everything together. The easiest part was assigning the parts because we already knew each others strengths and weaknesses. It was also hard finding people outside the group who were willing to play and support our film.

Media That Matters Joey

The video that watched was about the after math of Pearl Harbor and September the 11. This video was called "FACE TO FACE: STORIES FROM THE AFTERMATH OF INFAMY". It was created by Rob Mikuriya. A documentary that "explores what it means to be an American with a face of the enemy" This documentary is about the changes from Pearl Harbor to the tragedy of Sept. 11. The message is to inform people to start growing up and not to be so paranoide. That even though sixty years have passed we still have hatred towards people who were against us in past years. We are bringing our selves down by not moving on and letting go. I liked the whole documentary; nice use of pictures to portray thier meaning as well as the voice used for the video. Everything was in coordinated pretty well and made me think about thier cause.
