Film one= Books Not Bars
Documentary

It is about young teens that get locked up at a young age and also that the government calls them a menice to society. Teens also protest on not going to jais and sticking to there books as the title says Books Not Bars. It is letting young teens know dont take the road of getting in trouble and going to jail stay in school and get an education. What i liked about this film is that it is trying you see teens your age trying to change there lifes around and they wont stop until they acomplish it. What i did not like was that the majority of the film they only talked about blacks and latinos getting locked up.

Film 2= Bad Choices
Narrative

The film is about a young teen boy who had nobody who cared about him his mother choose liqour over her children so he figured if i go out and do something bad maybe i would get attention. But instead you got attention and got arressted. What i liked about this video is that it shows how many people struggle in life and get in trouble because the figure nobody cares about me so i dont care what i do with my life. What i did not like is that why would a mother choose liqour over your children.

The name of the video I chose was called “Bad Choices.” It was a documentary made with still pictures. I found this video in the criminal justice section. I notice that the film didn’t have any motion but was still able to captivate me. I liked how the pictures went along with what the narrator was saying. I like when you watch the film it makes you feel like you could have been their. The instrumental in the background really makes the story flow easier. I like how the narrator’s voice was natural. What I mean by that is the narrator talked as if he was talking to his close friends. He didn’t try to use fancy big words. I recommend that everybody takes a look at this video on their spare time. The message that the director is sending is that the decision you make will affect you and everybody around in the end.

1) The name of the film was “slip of the tongue” directed by Karen lum.
2) Its type is narrative
3) The message is about how men approach women like they don’t know anything and are blown away when they comment on how a person's beauty comes from their soul and not their weight, fashions or ethnicity.
4) I like the whole theme and how they get their point across by spoken word. and how all the images in the film relate to what the poet was saying at the exact moment. I didn’t dislike anything, I like it all.

The first video I choose from Media That Matters was Terminator Tomatoes. The film was directed and produced by Suzanne Twining and portrays the effect of genetically modified crops, corporate agribusiness concentration, farm and trade policy and sustainable agriculture. I really like this film because I thought it was well made portrayed the issue surrounding genetic engineering well.

The Second video I choose from Media That Matters was The Meatrix. The film was directed by Louis Fox and produced by free range graphics in conjunction with The Global Resource Action Center for the Environment. This film was a pretty disturbing one about the fight against factory farms. The video talks about how corporation are promoting animal cruelty, antibiotic resistant germs, massive pollution and destroying communities. I like this vide because it showed me something I never knew and gave me a whole new perspective on it.

Type-Documentary

The film is about a man who is living in poverty. he has no home or family and sleeps on the streets. The man goes around collecting things, that he can recycle. The message of the film is everyone should recycle, and poverty is bad.

Name: Profit Cola
Directed By: Mark Fiore
Type: Flash Animation

This video is about how profit soda can affect a child's life. It shows a talking soda can talking about how sometimes parents try to avoid unhealthy food choices when they don't know that in other places like in school, kids can choose the wrong thing to eat. What I liked about this film is that it shows the reality of how bad it can get when kids get hooked on things like soda and things that contain a lot of sugar. For example they can get obese or they can get diseases like diabetes. What I didn't like is the fact that they didn't go further. By that I mean that they didn't say how parents could avoid facing these problems.

Name: Food for Thought
Directed By: Kids on the Hill
Type:Documentary

This video talks about how good fruits and vegetables are for kids. It talks about which have proteins and vitamins and which make you grown or run faster. It also talks about what unhealthy foods do to the body, it says how bad it could get when the body digests sugars and unhealthy fats. This video teaches kids to choose right when it comes to food. What I liked about this video is the fact that instead of cartoons, they chose real kids to talk and physically show what they want to tell the viewers. I didn't really dislike anything about the video, I thought it was really good.
